Round Four pick 118 Markus Bailey- Purdue
Only available in round four due to him having a season ending knee injury last September. Bailey is an all action linebacker who has the ability to blitz through the defensive line and sack the quarterback. Alexander Johnson broke through with the Broncos last season but I would like to see another dynamic player join the linebacker depth chart. Bailey can recover fully and be introduced gradually back into action and adds fantastic value in round four. Before his injury Bailey started 40 straight games for the Purdue Boilermakers, suggesting that his availability shouldn’t be a problem in the future.

Round Five pick 178 Jonathan Garvin- Florida.
With some hard work and dedication Garvin could develop into a quality edge rusher. Provides him a chance to learn from Chubb and Miller as a Rookie.
‘ He is a high end developmental edge prospect, that has a high ceiling when/if the switch flicks’
Joe Marino identifies the potential Garvin has , if he is able to apply himself properly in the professional game. If he can’t, he will not reach his potential. thedraftnetwork.com/mock-draft-machine
Round Six pick 181 Mohamed Barry- Nebraska
Huge hitting linebacker, although Bailey has already been drafted the linebacker depth has needed shaking up for a while in Denver. Barry is a tough tackler and would add some physicality on special teams.
‘ you draft Barry in the Fifth and find a solid sub package Linebacker that can be a special teams ace, did you really lose?’
Jake Ellenbogen from downtownrams.com identifies Barry as a solid option in the later stages of the draft and highlights his special teams ability.
Round Seven pick 252 Stanford Samuels III- Florida State University.
Samuels had a poor combine, notably in the 40yard dash and he has been beaten for speed at times in his career at FSU. But Samuels is rangy and a has a lot of length which he can use in the passing game. I had lined up Braden Mann as a pick here prior to Sam Martin being signed to replace Colby Wadman. See Samuels highlights here.
Round Seven Pick 254 Joey Magnifico- Memphis
Has all the attributes of a wide receiver but lines up at tight end. Able to create seperation and get downfield, even though the Broncos are pretty stacked at tight end I feel magnifico could add something different to the team as one of Noah Fant’s understudies. See his highlights here.
There you have it, my Draft without trades. Players like Gibson will continue to rise and I would not be surprised to see him selected in the second round. Getting Markus Bailey in the Fourth round would be unbelievable, I am as excited at the prospects of who we can pick in rounds 3 and 4 as I am about Round 1.
If we can get Jeudy I will be ecstatic. My gut feeling is that we will have to trade up to ensure it, the lads over at DNVR conducted their first live Mock Draft and it saw the top three wide receivers and tackles gone before pick 15. Let’s hope that was an anomaly. The Draft is always an exciting time of year and I am also looking to see what undrafted free agents we bring in as traditionally the Broncos have unearthed gems here.
One final footnote, The lads over at Broncos Europe have been smashing it out of park over the last few weekends. They have had Wade Phillips, Karl Mecklenburg and Jake Plummer on as guests during their game watch parties. Check them out here. Top work gents, get well soon Michael.
